The Wichita State baseball team has a busy week off baseball, with five games in six days, but it did not get off to a very good start on Tuesday as the Shockers lost 7-3 to Nebraska.
WSU jumped out an early 2-0 in the bottom of the first. The Huskers got one of those runs back in the top of the second, but the Shockers stretched the lead back out to two runs on a Tyler Baker home run in the bottom of the inning.
The wheels sort of fell off in the when Nebraska scored three runs in the top of the third and they added a run in the fifth and two more in the ninth.
Starting pitcher Kris Garnder picked up his second loss of the season going just two and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs on six hits while striking out two.
WSU heads to Tulsa on Wednesday to face Oral Roberts.
