About 5,700 Medicaid patients may have to change their KanCare plans.

Salina Regional hospital and all of its affiliates will no longer accept United Health Care's Community Medicaid plan. It will still accept Sunflower State Health Plan and Amerigroup Kansas, Inc.

Tom Bell, executive director of government and public relations, says that the enrollment period for those who originally signed up for KanCare last January is going on, now, and those using the United plan can switch to Sunflower State or Amerigroup.

Workers at the KanCare enrollment center say that if a person is not up for enrollment this fall, then they need to call the KanCare Enrollment Center at 1-866-305-5147.

The change only affects those on the United Health Care's Medicaid plan and not other plans through UHC, like their military and veteran's coverage.

The emergency room will still accept all patients with emergent medical needs.

Salina Regional Health Center's affiliates are the Tammy Walker Cancer Center, Comcare, Salina Regional Oncology, Salina Regional Surgical Associates, Salina Regional Heart Center, Salina Women's Clinic, Veridan Behavioral Health, Salina Regional Neurosurgery, Salina Pediatric Care, Salina Regional Neurosciences, and Lindsborg Community Hospital.

If you have any questions, you can call 1-866-305-5147.
