WICHITA, Kan. -

Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall says that he did visit Missouri athletic director Mike Alden but that he 'did not give much consideration to leaving Wichita State University and what we have built.'

In a statement sent to Eyewitness Sports' Jenn Bates, Myles Solomon, Gregg Marshall's agent said the following:

Gregg did have a chance to visit with Missouri AD Mike Alden and was very impressed with Mike’s vision and leadership and with the potential of the Missouri basketball program.  However, with Kellen about to be a senior in high school, and with a top-10 caliber squad returning this season, the timing was off to even consider leaving WSU.

Marshall's text message to Jenn read as following:

I visited with Mike Alden and thought he had a nice vision for their program and seemed like a great leader.  But the timing of having Kellin (sic) being a senior to be and arguably a top ten caliber team returning I did not give much consideration to leaving Wichita State University and what we have built.
