It was a better effort by the Jayhawks, but in the end the result was the same.

It's been more than 1,000 days since the Jayhawks won on the road, but they'll have to wait a little longer to get a win, as the TCU Horned Frogs took a quick lead in the third quarter after being tied at the half.

Tied 10-10, TCU downed the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchback, but took it 75 yards on the very next play to go up by seven. Trevone Boykin found David Porter for a short pass, but two missed tackles by Jayhawk defenders gave Porter a clear and easy path to the endzone, and just one play into the second half, KU was trailing.

The bleeding had just begu for the Jayhawks. Only two plays into their next drive, James Sims fumbled, and TCU recovered. Seven plays and 53 yards later, TCU was up by 14.

KU came back on the next drive and scored on a drive that was aided by a muffed punt return from TCU, and the 'Hawks had the defecit back to only seven.

The two teams traded possessions for the next 15 minutes, before TCU kicked a field goal with 2:34 left in the game to ice the victory for the Horned Frogs.

Jake Heaps finished his day 13 for 26 for 152 yards, witha touchdown and an interception. James Sims ran 23 times for 81 yards, but was held to only 28 in the second half.

Trevone Boykin led TCU with 1 touchdown and two interceptions on 14 off 22 passing for 173 yards.

KU falls to 2-3 on the season, 0-2 in the Big 12. TCU improves to 3-3, and 1-2 in the Big 12.

Previous Update

The Kansas Jayhawks are searching for a program-changing win, and a little momentum as well. After one half of football in Ft. Worth, the Jayhawks are on the right path.

The Jayhawks and Horned Frogs are tied at 10 after 30 minutes of play, with three TCU turnovers as the difference in the game.

Kansas started out with a field goal from Matthew Wyman to put the 'Hawks up three, but TCU followed that with a touchdown drive to go up 7-3.

After a field goal from TCU to go up by seven, Trevone Boykins threw a pass that was intercepted and returned 32 yards for a touchdown by  JaCorey Sheperd.

That play tied the game, and gave us the current score.

Jake Heaps is 5 for 10 with 69 yards passing, while Boykins is 6-11 for 40 yards, but also had two interceptions.

James Sims had been the workhorse on the ground for the 'Hawks with 15 carries in the half, good for 53 yards. B.J. Catalon has 5 carries for 56 yards for the Horned Frogs.

Andrew Turzilli had 1 catch for KU, good for 50 yards, but had to leave the field after that play with an apparent ankle injury.
