Pocono Raceway seems to be to the liking of the Hendrick Motorsports team. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. went to victory lane on Sunday at the triangle shaped track, making him the fourth straight HMS car to win there.

“I just wanted to win at Pocono,” said Earnhardt, Jr. “I've never won here and I've came so close, and we've had so many opportunities slip away.  We've been so close.  It feels good to finally get to victory lane here.”

It's Junior's first win at at non-restrictor plate race since 2008.

Brad Keselowski dominated the race, leading 95 laps. But with five laps to go he tried to use the 10 car to get trash off his grill, that momentary slow down allowed Earnhardt, Jr. to get by.

“I feel like this one is kind of on me and the circumstances,” said Keselowski. “I thought I had enough of a cushion, and when I got down in the corner and the car in front of me got sideways I realized I had made a mistake.  But it was too little, too late, but still proud of the speed, good execution today on probably all ends but mine.”

Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson rounded out the top five.

Kansas native Clint Bowyer had a car that raced in the top 10 for the later laps in the race, but he fell dropped off just a little in the late laps.

He tweeted after the race, “Had a good car today, unfortunately the 22 blew up in front of me and didn't go on last restart.”
