To the surprise of just about no one, the Shockers dominated the MVC postseason awards.

Five different Shockers were honored; Ron Baker, Cleanthony Early and Fred VanVleet named to the MVC 1st team roster. Tekele Cotton earned Defensive MVP honors, along with 2nd team roster and Darius Carter was the Newcomer of the year honoree.

The argument could made that the entire team could have been awarded something, or other. Is ANYONE else voting against Zach Bush as class clown?! Don't think so.

Found it interesting that Tekele Cotton got a write-in vote for the Larry Bird Trophy. Four Shockers were in the running and VanVleet came out on top. But if he didn't, it was going to someone in that locker room. Early came in second and Baker was third.

Was there a better player this year than Van Vleet? Or maybe I should rephrase that, was there a more important player this season than VanVleet? The one game the Shockers had their bacon in the fire, VanVleet was so integral for dragging them out they needed to add a separate scoring category for doing so.

I will be amazed if someone else wins MVC Coach of the Year instead of Gregg Marshall. I can think of 31 reasons why he should/will win this week.

See you in St. Louis. Well, actually that's a lie - I'll be in Wichita but the team is headed there.
