Bill Self feeling fine in Lawrence

When it comes to facing the in state rival, it's safe to say the Bill Self feels very comfortable in Lawrence.

Since coming to Kansas, Self has one loss in the Sunflower Showdown in Allen Fieldhouse (9-1) and just three against the Wildcats (18-3). After Saturday's latest win, an 86-60 whipping, you can add another number in both of those win columns.

It is incredible what Self gets out of his players. Granted, he is working with stallions and not mules, but when they need to turn it on they are able to. Andrew Wiggins dropped in 22 points in his first meeting against #25 K-State (12-4) and Wayne Selden continues his hot play with 20 points, after 24 vs. Oklahoma, Wednesday night. KU has one of the best undiscovered talents in the nation in Joel Embiid and he will be a top-10 (maybe #1) draft pick in the summer. He used to play volleyball not long ago and could be the best big man in the NBA draft.

Self is an excellent recruiter and gets the right people around him to continue the successful talent stream coming to Lawrence. But I don't think he gets enough credit as a coach. He took a team that some didn't think would win the Big 12 to the national title game.

But KU is good and will only get better the more time they are on the court together, and however they finish out in the Big 12.

And the man that put them together is the one that will keep them together in March.
