Runners take on Wichita's 2014 Spring Prairie Fire Half Marathon

Over 1,000 runners hit the streets of downtown Wichita to compete in the 2014 Spring Prairie Fire Half Marathon.

The race kicked-off with the Half Marathon (13.1 miles) at 7:30 AM, followed by a 5K, Sparky's Kids Mile, and Family Fun Run/Walk .

The 13.1-mile route took runners through the heart of some of downtown Wichita’s great landmarks and growing residential areas.

The route included the following areas: Exploration Place, Wichita Art Museum, Old Town, Old Cowtown, Keeper of the Plains, Riverside Park, Oak Park, Sims Park, and the Arkansas River.
