The race took runners through 4-5 miles of unpredictable terrains at the grounds of the Kansas Coliseum. Runners had to overcome more than 30 challenging obstacles that had them crawling through mud, climbing over hurdles, and jumping over barriers.

The event consisted of two primary heats: CHARGE for Fun (Beginners) and CHARGE for Glory (Pros).

CHARGE for Fun consisted of several different heats specifically designed for individuals in the military, college, teenage ages 14-17, and kids ages 5-13. CHARGE for Fun heats were neither timed nor competitive, allowing participants to just enjoy the obstacle course.

CHARGE for Glory was the heat for those ‘in it, to win it’, in which runners were timed and marshaled. The top qualifiers in The Glory race will be a televised.

The 4-mile challenge and nationally televised show is benefitting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at Via Christi Health.
