The public is invited to the grand opening of the new CityArts Boutique this Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The CityArts Boutique carries one-of-a-kind artwork, jewelry and unique gifts made by local and regional artists who receive 70 percent of each sale.
The opening is being held in conjunction with the Affair in the Square – Old Town Square Holiday Open House. CityArts is located at 334 N. Mead in Old Town Square.
“The CityArts Boutique is the perfect place to purchase holiday gifts and support local artists at the same time,” said Elizabeth Daniel, youth education director at CityArts. “We have everything from bracelets made out of Kansas license places to ceramic vases to a 10-foot Robert Pin made out of steel that is too big to simply be called a bobby pin.”
The CityArts Boutique is jam-packed with photography, paintings, blown glass and decorative pieces made by more than 35 local and regional artists, many of whom teach art classes at CityArts.
It is also stocked with CityArts logo merchandise. The majority of items are between $15 and $50. With new items constantly added to the inventory, no two visits to the CityArts Boutique will be the same.
The CityArts Boutique – formerly known as the CityArtisans Gallery Gift Shop – was renamed and given a new, contemporary look to re-energize the space and expand its focus to include original artwork as well as handmade gifts and décor that are both affordable and irresistible.
Starting Nov. 23, CityArts Boutique hours will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Final Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
