WPD: Drug deal leads to southeast Wichita shooting

Two men robbed while trying to sale Craig's list items

A teenager is recovering from a gun shot wound after shooting himself during a drug deal.

It happened in the 1000 block of South Pinecrest around 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police said an 18-year-old man and 19-year-old man met for a drug transaction. One of the men pointed a gun, there was a struggle, and a shot was fired.

The bullet struck the 19-year-old in the leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The case remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.
