WICHITA, Kan. -

A Wichita woman escaped serious injury after being mugged near the Keeper of the Plains statue.

According to police, the woman was attacked by a robber while walking in the area near the 700 block of W. Central just before 8 p.m. Monday.

The assailant grabbed her hair and demanded her purse.  She didn't give it to him and he took off from the scene on a bike.

She was only able to provide a vague description of the man.  He's described as white, in his 30s, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds wearing a dark blue shirt.
