More important things going on…

A 65/m, who is the pastor of a church in the 1300 block of S. Meridian, says someone forced their way into the church through a side window. He says some things are missing. The intruder also got into the safe, but nothing was taken from it.
A 38/f says someone stole two bikes off of her front porch in the 3000 block of S. Broadway. Both of the bikes were locked up at the time.
A 54/m reports finding several baggies of heroin in a storm drain during maintenance. Those baggies were submitted to police. The total weight was around 91 grams (Reference: A nickel is around 5 grams). No idea who they belong to.
A 32/f says someone brought a live .380 bullet to summer camp in the 2700 block of E. 18th N. The bullet was submitted to police and she contacted KDHE and DCF about the incident. No one was hurt.
Stealing from a garage sale…
A 74/f says she was hosting a garage sale at her home in the 1100 block of E. 47th S. when someone stole the cash and an unknown number of checks which were written to pay for purchases. She has no idea when it happened or who did it.
Stolen water meter…
A 31/m reports someone stealing a water meter from a construction site along 2nd Street. That meter was being used to measure the amount of water construction crews were using from a fire hydrant.
A 54/f says she dropped ten envelopes with bill payments in the outside post office mailbox in the 2500 block of S. Elizabeth. She says several of those checks have not made it to their intended recipients and some of them have been altered and cashed.
A 23/f who works for a business in the 2700 block of N. Maize says two people passed all points of sale with a cart full of merchandise. They appeared to become nervous, and just left the cart just inside the door of the store. All of the property was retained. The two “almost” thieves got away. The store plans on providing police with surveillance video of the incident.
a 23/f says the co-owner of her car was arrested and left their car at Central and Oliver. When she went to get the car, it was gone. She wasn’t sure who took it, but no one had permission to do so.
Gun, marijuana, ZZZs….
A 20/m found a man slumped over in his car in the 3500 block of N. Woodlawn. Police checked on him, he had a gun and marijuana in his possession.
A 30/f says some neighborhood children told her that they saw someone in her backyard picking flowers off of her pumpkin plants. She checked the plants and says some flowers are missing, but the plant itself is fine. She is concerned because someone slashed her pool recently. That vandalism caused the water to drain and her pump motor to burn up.
