Wichita Police Crime Sheets: Wed. July 30

Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

An 18/f says her neighbor in the 700 block of S. Terrace drove over to her home and knocked on her door for twenty minutes. She says the man was acting paranoid. Police found the driver, who showed signs of being drunk. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI, driving on a suspended license and DUI after THREE prior incidents.
Gaming machines burglarized…
A 52/f says someone broke into her business in the 3200 block of S. Hillside. The intruder broke through a rear glass door and stole property from gaming machines.
A 72/f reports someone smashing through the rear glass door of her business in the 1500 block of S. Broadway and stealing an unknown amount of cash from a gaming machine.
A 40/f says one of the tires on her car was slashed in the 2100 block of S. Rogers. She says a neighbor also had a slashed tire. She says she hasn’t had any problems with anyone and doesn’t know who would do such a thing.
A 35/f reports someone broke into her business in the 700 block of W. 21st N. The thief broke through the drive-thru window and stole some property.
At least it was a roof…
A 66/m says he let someone stay in his garage in the 1700 block of S. Palisade for a couple of months. When the person left and was no longer staying in the garage, he noticed some of his property was missing.
A 54/f says someone came into her business in the 2100 block of N. Madison through an unlocked door. She says the guy broke into a coke machine. She doesn’t know if anything is missing from the machine. There’s nothing in the report about anything else being stolen.
A 25/f says someone came to her business in the 300 block of S. Ridge overnight. She says the person cut some major branches from two trees next to the parking lot. She thinks one tree will die because of the damage. She isn’t sure if the trees will need to be cut down to be safe for customers and employees. She has no idea who did it.
A 49/f says someone stole her pet from her backyard in the 6900 block of E. Croyden. She says the tethering line that held the dog was cut. She says she’s driven all over the neighborhood, but hasn’t found her dog. The dog is microchipped.
There were several cases of bicycles being stolen. 500 W. 25th N., 1300 S. Edwards, 400 W. Douglas (this one was actually locked up)
Wallet & phone scraped…
A 20/m says someone used an ice scraper to get his cell phone and wallet from the counter where he works in the 3900 block of W. 13th N.
Some peoples’ children…
A 34/f says some neighbor children in the 2600 block of N. Waco are causing problems. They’re leaving trash in her yard and they’ve now thrown eggs at her house. Her mother in law lives across the street and has the same problem with the kids.
A 41/f says someone had a falling-out with one of her employees. She says the person is now calling her and making threats toward her and her business. She says the person is threatening to post negative items about the business on Facebook.
A 29/f says another driver was “on his bumper”, honking and trying to pass him in the 11200 block of W. Jewell. He says the driver then racked his gun as he drove back by him. Police say the drive was open carrying and has a conceal carry license.
A little bit of everything…
2:55 am (Wednesday AM)
A 61/m called police to say that someone has been twisting his dog’s chain around her neck so she can’t reach her water. He says this usually happens early in the morning has he has not seen the culprit. He says this has been going on for years. He also says that the person is connecting to his internet through his phone. He called back a short time later and said that he has been pickpocketed several times and that people come into his home and use his PlayStation and eat his food.
