Sign batteries stolen…
A 43/m reports someone coming into a yard belonging to a business in the 3400 block of W. Harry and stealing the batteries off of the traffic arrow sign trailers. The owner of the company is out of town until Thursday. They will review the surveillance video and submit it if it may be helpful.
A 56/m says someone spray-painted the side of a building in the 1300 block of E. Douglas.
A 40/f says she received an email from a website that used vile and profane language. She says the email also included a threat to set fire to her CEO’s vehicle.
A 56/m says someone vandalized his business’s mailbox. It was later discovered that someone stole property out of the mailbox as well.
A 49/f who works for a school in the 2200 block of E. 25th N. (Gordon Parks Academy) says a student was caught vandalizing the boys’ restroom stall, wall and paper towel holder with a pencil. The school submitted photos of the damage.
A 56/m says his business’s mailbox was ripped from their building in the 1800 block of S. Broadway recently. His personal checks were taken. He found out through his bank that those checks were then forged and some electronic purchases have been made on the account.
A 23/f says her car doors were left open (she shut them the night before) in the 3000 block of E. Osie. The vehicle was then covered in snow. She says her boyfriend’s ex-wife has been coming around and making inappropriate comments to her. She says “You can have Sonny” in the vehicle on the snow. The car was not damaged.
Let’s hear it for the dogs…
A 58/f says two people opened her chainlink fence in the 2500 block of N. Hoover and backed their vehicle up next to her gray 12-foot ATV trailer (with wood deck and flip-up ramp). The guys got out of their car and moved her trailer about 12-inches - but then ran back into the car and took off after her Great Dane dogs chased after them. Nothing was taken...no damage.
An 18/f reports taking a childcare job from someone off of a website. She received a check in the mail with instructions to cash it, keep some of the money, and send the balance via MoneyGram to someone else. She followed the instructions and was later contacted by her bank which told her that the check was fake and she is now on the hook for the rest of the balance.
A 29/m says someone shot orange paintballs at his car in the 2200 block of S. Topeka. His dad was able to wash the paint off. He says someone possibly broke the back window on his brother’s truck, too.
An officer reports finding a three-year-old girl home alone. The girl had been left in her brother’s care by her mother. Police were able to contact the mother, but not the brother. The girl was taken to the Wichita Children’s Home as a “Child in Need of Care.”
A 33/m says he found three counterfeit bills in the register drawer while working at a business in the 1900 block of N. Rock. No idea who passed the bills.
