Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

A 28/f says she got into an argument with her live-in boyfriend in the 1100 block of W. Fultz. Someone got mad at the boyfriend for smoking around the kids. The boyfriend then grabbed the 28/f’s hand and tried to put out the cigarette, causing a burn to her left finger. The man was arrested on a domestic battery charge.
A 40/f says a man was waving a gun around during a disturbance with another woman in the 1500 block of S. Water. When police got there, no one would answer the door to the apartment. They forced their way in and found three people inside. Police also found a black CO2 gun and drug paraphernalia. One of the people inside admitted that the paraphernalia was his. He had brass knuckles on his person. As that man was being booked, jailers noticed he had a saw blade concealed in his shoe. He was arrested on several charges. A woman in the home is also expected to be arrested.
Stolen and pawned…
A 20/f says she let someone stay with her for a few days in her home in the 1500 block of S. Pinecrest. During that time, she says the guest stole some of her property. She then found the stolen property at a nearby pawn shop. She would like to prosecute the thief.
A 47/m says someone called him and said they were going to shut off his electricity if he didn’t send money via money cards (Green Dot Cards). He sent the money, but then the “electric company” told him he didn’t. No word on how much the man lost.
Can’t joke about that...
A 38/f employee of a school in the 1500 block of N. Payne (Marshall Middle School) says a student said she wanted to “burn the school down”. The threat was overheard by two people. The girl said she was only joking around. A parent was called in and she was suspended. No word on criminal charges.
Diaper bag stolen…
A 25/m says someone got into his car by unknown means and stole a diaper bag and all of its contents. The car was parked at his home in the 6200 block of W. 35th S. at the time.
Wheelchair ramps stolen...
A 40/f called police to report that someone stole wheelchair ramps from outside an apartment in the 400 block of W. Pawnee.
Car stolen while hospitalized…
A 51/m says someone came to visit him in the hospital in the 900 block of N. St. Francis. As they were watching TV, he felt the woman slide something onto the bed. Turns out, it was a bag filled with his property. When he checked in the bag, he noticed his car keys were missing. He asked the woman what she was doing, but she left the room. The man then had hospital security look for his car...which was no longer in the parking lot.
