Wichita Police Crime Sheets: Tues. May 27

Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Time to face the music…
A 40m reports someone playing their music too loud for extended periods of time in the 1000 block of N. Old Manor. An officer went out and gave the guy a warning. The officer responded to a THIRD 911 call regarding the loud music. The officer heard the music and determined it was in violation to the city’s nuisance violation. The guy was given a notice to appear in court to face charges.
You don’t belong here…
A 42/m says he came out of his home in the 1700 block of S. Broadway and found a guy laying between his house and a fence to the north. The guy was passing something to another person who was laying under a car in a parking lot. The two weren’t there by the time police arrived. It’s reported as a suspicious character case.
A 24/f reports three guys breaking into her business in the 2200 block of N. Grove by forcing their way through a front glass door. They then fled on foot. She submitted photos to police, but did not have video surveillance.
A 21/f reports someone following her as she walks to work. She says this happened back in January. She tried to lose him, but he caught up with her three times. He did it again on Monday, she says he followed her all the way to work and sat in the parking lot and watched her. She is concerned because he now knows where she works.
A 36/m says someone was shooting BB guns at his cars, causing damage to the windshields. The cars were parked at his home in the 2300 block of N. Somerset at the time.
Not an even trade…
A 60/m says someone broke into his car in the 2000 block of N. Grove. The thief took his CD player in faceplate. He left behind a screwdriver.
A 20/f says someone came into the store where she works in the 6300 block of E. 21st N. The guy asked for some merchandise, which she got and put on the counter. He then asked for another item. She went to get it, but he grabbed the first product and took off running.
A 37/f says someone came into the store where she was working in the 3300 block of N. Rock Road and asked for two cartons of Newport cigarettes. He swiped a card to pay for them, which didn’t go through. But, he left quickly. She called out to him that the transaction didn’t go through, but he kept walking and ran away. She says the guy is not a regular in the store, but she thinks she’s seen him before.
A 79/f says she found a burnt notebook in her yard. She thinks it belongs to someone she’s had trouble with in the past. She is worried because the man has been violent in the past and damaged her home. Police found him, he says he had nothing to do with it. Police could not tie him to the incident.
A 19/m, who works for a business in the 500 block of N. Tyler, says a woman has been coming in to the business every day with a cup and fills it up without paying. He says he’s told her several times to stop coming in, but she continues to do it. Police advised him to call 911 the next time she comes in, they’ll give her a trespass notice.
An 84/m reports someone vandalizing his scooter and tampering with some of his property at his home in the 100 block of N. Estelle.
Dog in the closet…
A woman says her neighbor keeps on locking her dog in a closet at her home in the 1600 block of N. Crowley. She’s concerned for the dog’s safety and well-being. She called animal control, but they referred her to police. She wanted to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation.
Hit with a brick…
A 57/m reports two people striking him on the head with a brick and stealing his money in the 1500 block of N. Lorraine. The man received a severe laceration and lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital. Police have not located the attackers.
A woman reports her 8-year-old daughter and a friend were riding their bikes when they were approached by a guy on a motorcycle. He asked the friend if she wanted a ride on the motorcycle. The two rode their bikes home, but the guy followed them. He left as soon as they got to the driveway. The address of the incident is not listed.
