Wichita Police Crime Sheets: Tues. April 1

Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Plumbing parts stolen…
A 32/m says someone broke into a trailer at a construction site in the 400 block of W. Maple and stole assorted plumbing parts. He says the thieves used bolt cutters to get into the trailer.
Brand new motorcycle stolen…
A 27/f says someone stole her motorcycle from outside her boyfriend’s apartment in the 1700 block of S. Rock overnight. She says she just got the bike on Friday and it has a 60-day tag on it.
A 51/f says someone pried their way into her locked mailbox and stole some mail. She says she was expecting something, and it was not there.
Hatcheted and maced...
A 23/m says someone battered him with a hatchet while someone else sprayed mace in his face at S. George Washington Blvd and Menlo. This came after a “failed civil agreement” between the man and the person who maced him. That person was arrested for aggravated assault. The person with the hatchet left the scene and was not there when police arrived. The man was treated at the hospital. He needed stitches to the side of his face and his left hand.
These things are still happening…
A 63/m says he received a computerized phone call stating that his debit card was frozen. He was asked to press 1 for security. He hung up and contacted his bank - which, no surprise, told him that everything was fine with his card.
A 71/m says someone took one of his painting from the carrier on top of his vehicle in the 6100 block of W. Kellogg. He says the crooks also damaged the back attachment while trying to remove the carrier. Two locks were undone. He plans on sending a photo of the painting to police in hopes it will help them track it down.
A 57/m says someone, possibly his daughter’s ex, slashing two tires and leaving the gas tank open on a vehicle parked at his home in the 2300 block of S. Victoria. He isn’t sure if anything was put in the gas tank. He says he has a text message from the ex stating “he is watching him”. He says he doesn’t get along with his daughter’s ex.
A 30/m says his black moped with orange wheels was taken from the parking lot of his apartment complex in the 8400 block of E. Harry. The moped does not have a tag and he has the keys.
Robbed while filling out an application…
A 55/f says someone stole her wallet and some other belongings from her purse while she was applying for a job in the 9100 block of E. Corporate Hills.
A woman reports her 11-year-old son was shot in the mouth with an airsoft gun. The shooting broke one of his front teeth. She does not want to press charges against the person who fired the shot. (Note: The report does not state the age of the person who fired the shot, or their relationship with the boy.)
A 42/m says he got into an argument with someone who he thought broke windows at his house. The two got into a fight and the other guy pulled a knife and cut him several times. He was treated for minor injuries at the hospital. Police arrested the assailant.
