Community mailbox damaged…
A 59/m says someone pried open the lock to the community mailbox in the 3200 block of S. Hydraulic. It’s not known if any mail was stolen.
A 34/f says a former employee created a payroll check with the owner’s information and name - then cashed it. That person also took a picture of three checks and tried to deposit them on his credit card and cash them. No word on how much money was stolen.
Another check forgery…
A 31/f says she mailed out four bills in her mailbox in the 800 block of N. Daugherty. She found out later that someone tried to cash one of the checks.
A man called police to say someone did some repairs on his home in the 8000 block of E. Orme. He says the person who did the repairs keeps calling and asking for money. He is now making threats of harm against the homeowner’s family and home.
Pot at school…
A 45/m officer reports a student having marijuana on his person while at school in the 1500 block of N. Payne (Marshall Middle School). The student was given a court date and released to a parent at the school.
A 55/f in the 1600 block of S. Rutan says someone cut the padlock on her shed and took some of her property. She says the stuff was still in her backyard by the back fence. She thinks the crooks were planning to come back and pick it up.
A 64/m says he wrote a check to the Stafford County Treasurer to cover property taxes, but the check never made it to Stafford County. He says the check was stolen, washed, and made out to someone else. The check was then cashed at a bank. He has an electronic copy of the check as it was cashed and wants to press charges.
A 22/f says two men came up to her as she was going into her home in the 3300 block of N. Market. She says they pushed her, causing her to drop her purse. One of the guys put a gun to the back of her head and forced into her home. She says she was held at gunpoint by one of the guys while the other searched the house for other things to steal. She says she doesn’t think anything else was taken from the house and the two took off on foot with her purse. She was not hurt. Police are looking for the two men.
