Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Friday - 7:55 am
A 20/f in the 1600 block of N. Brunswick says someone threw eggs at her car, slashed all four tires and poured sugar in her gas tank. She does not know who could have done it.
Friday - 8:03 am
A 63/f says someone stole her 2006 Chevy Silverado which was left running in the 1100 block of S. Glenn.

A 22/m says someone stole his car which was left running in the 800 block of S. Meridian.
In the attic?
Friday - 10:27 am
A 76/f says two people may have been in her attic in the 1100 block of N. Hickory Creek. She didn’t see anyone, but she heard a man and woman talking. Another person reported seeing several footprints in the attic.
Friday - 11:23 am
A 66/m says he wrote a check and mailed it….then later discovered the check was altered and cashed using someone else’s information.
Friday - 11:46 am
An 89/f in the 2000 block of S. Estelle says a man she hired to trim some trees stole her credit card. She says he got it when she let him inside to use the restroom. She says he’s already used the card.
Friday - 1:39 pm
A 60/f says someone keeps coming to her apartment in the 300 block of N. Market. The person wants to come in and be friendly. She says the person appears to be intoxicated and she doesn’t want to deal with any of those issues.

Friday - 5:09 pm
A 28/m says he left his car running in the 500 block of W. Walker. The car was then stolen.
...and I can’t get up…
Friday - 6:14 pm
A 53/f says she got a phone call from someone trying to sell her a “fallen and can’t get up button”. She says she gave the caller her personal and financial information. After the call, she started feeling suspicious, so she called her bank to change her information. She did not lose any money.
Friday - 9:17 pm
A 33/f says she came home and found several bullet holes in her house and vehicles. This happened in the 3600 block of E. 10th. No one was home when the shots were fired, though some neighbors reported hearing the shots but didn’t call police. There may be video of the incident.

Friday - 9:51 pm
A 47/m says someone fired as many as seven rounds at their home in the 700 block of S. Edwards, hitting it three times. Four people were in the house and one person was in a detached garage at the time. No one was hurt.
Saturday - 11:38 am
A 35/f says her daughter is receiving texts from men asking for sex and nude photos of her. She says the girl’s father may have emailed the men with her phone number.
Saturday - 4:54 pm
A 32/f reports someone shoplifting from a business in the 2400 block of W. Pawnee. When an employee tried to stop the thief, she was bitten three times. Police say the woman had bite wounds to her hand and to her left buttock area. She didn’t require medical care, but the shoplifter complained of a stomach ache and was taken to the hospital before being arrested.
He shouldn’t have had a gun in the first place…
Saturday - 9:04 pm
A 50/f says a bullet was fired into her apartment in the 2800 block of S. Emporia. Three other people were home at the time, but no one was hurt. She says a neighbor admitted to accidentally firing a shot while cleaning his gun. Police obtained a search warrant and found the gun. The man was arrested for criminal discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Sunday - 1:21 pm
A 46/m says someone shot a rock at his car with a slingshot. The rock caused damage to his car. Two other people witnessed the incident.
Sunday - 9:02 pm
A 22/f says she received a phone call from someone who said “This is (name not listed on the report), your husband and don’t forget it.” - then hung up. She says she called the number back and asked who it was. The guy who answered said “This is your husband and we’re going to sleep together tomorrow. Wear your best night gown. I bet you smell good.” The woman says she doesn’t recognize the voice or the phone number.
