Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Friday - 2:09 am
A 24/f says she heard glass break from inside her home in the 3400 block of S. Osage. Police found a bullet outside the home in a wooden fence which was fired through the glass rear door. The woman says she didn’t know anything about a gunshot, but there were three other people in the home before the glass broke.
Reeking of pot….
Friday - 8:30 am
A 33/m says two students were stopped coming into school in the 1400 block of N. Rochester (North High School). The two were late and reeked of marijuana. Staff searched both of them. One of them has marijuana on him. He was booked for possession of marijuana. The other was cited for possession of cigarettes.
Where are my puppies?
Friday - 9:04 am
A 64/m says he contacted someone on a website to buy Yorkie puppies. He says he sent money, but never received the two puppies. He has all correspondence and receipts between him and the supposed seller.
Dropping cash in the mailbox…
Friday - 10:01 am
A 26/f says she put cash in her mailbox in the 800 S. San Paolo to be picked up for her rent, but it wasn’t there when she went to pick it up for her landlord.
BB gun vandals…
Friday - 11:15 am
A 61/m says someone used a BB or pellet gun to shoot out two windows of his rental unit in the 2200 block of S. Broadway.
Hair set on fire at school…
Friday - 12:30 pm
A 14/f says a student set her hair on fire with a lighter. The other student was arrested. This happened in the 900 block of S. Edgemoor, which is the location for both Southeast High and Curtis Middle Schools. A fire investigator was also sent to the scene.
Friday - 1:29 pm
A 35/f in the 1600 block of S. Market says someone stole her Christmas decorations from her yard.
Friday - 4:23 pm
A 44/f says she met with someone in the 300 block of S. West Street to purchase a ring through Craigslist. She took the ring to a local pawn shop, where she was told it was a fake.
Cause for concern?
Friday - 5:21 pm
A 60/f says she saw a man sitting in a car at the bust stop where children are let off in the 500 block of W. 53rd S. She says he was rolling his window up and down and watching the area. He then came to her vehicle and told her that he lost his cell phone, but knew that this was were the bus stopped. The woman who reported the situation says she didn’t see the man pick up anyone at the stop and this is the first time she’s seen him in that area. She was worried he may be checking out children leaving the bus.
Saturday - 2:50 am
A cab driver says a man refused to pay the fare for his cab ride. Police arrested the man for theft of services.
Burglarized during church…
Sunday - 11:41 am
A 39/f says someone broke through one of the windows on her car while she was attending church in the 4400 block of W. Maple. Nothing was taken, but the window is broken.
Sunday - 11:41 pm
A man called police from out of town saying his daughter met a man online and he kidnapped her to Wichita. Police found the woman to see what was going on. She says she is here voluntarily and is married to the man, who was also on the scene.
