Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

Wallet stolen on the bus…
A 22/f says she left her wallet on the seat of a city bus while she paid her fare. When she returned to her seat, the wallet was gone.
A woman called police to say that someone called her several times to report someone else mentioning an explosive device outside a business. She says the caller didn’t make any sense, and mentioned a few bible scriptures (though the caller didn’t remember the verses).
A 38/f in the 1000 block of S. Edgemoor called police to report someone embezzling funds belonging to someone while residing on a committee for “Hope for Haiti”. That person was responsible for setting up a donation account online with the victim’s account number, but the woman used her personal account instead and now the funds are not available to donate.
Gonna burn it down…
A 59/f who works for a business in the 400 block of S. Hillside says she was on the phone with a customer for over an hour discussing a dispute in his bill with the company. During that time, the caller told the employee he would burn the place down and that he knows enough people who do drive-bys. She felt threatened by the caller.
Storage unit burglaries…
A 31/m who works for a business in the 1100 block of S. Rock says several storage units were broken into and burglarized. The man who reported the theft did not know how much was taken.
