A Walmart janitor is looking for a new job after he was fired for asking an Oklahoma couple to leave the store.
It happened in Chickasha, Okla. this week, KFOR reports.
Jonathan Pacheco and his boyfriend, Miguel, said they stopped at Walmart for a box of cookies. But they said their visit with the janitor, wasn't so sweet.
"We weren't holding hands," Pacheco said. "We weren't kissing. We weren't doing anything inappropriately."
Pacheco said the janitor made it clear the couple was not welcome in the store.
"In my Bible it's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve," the janitor told the couple.
Ryan Kiesel, with the ACLU said the encounter comes as Senators pass a bill preventing employers from firing people based on their sexual orientation.
"I think, that on one hand it says that we've made a lot of progress as a society, but it demonstrates we've got a long way to go," Kiesel said.
A Walmart spokesman called the incident "completely unacceptable," and said the associate is no longer with the company.
