Sunday afternoon update: Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department said the two victims were from Arkansas.

The department said the driver was a 62-year-old man and the passenger was a 54-year-old woman. A sheriff's supervisor said the two have the same last name but it is unclear what the relation was.

The sheriff's supervisor said because it is not clear if the family has been notified, the department is still not releasing the victims' names.

Two people were killed in an overnight rollover in south Sedgwick County early Sunday morning.

Emergency crews were called out to 103rd St. and Broadway just before 1:00 a.m. for the single-vehicle accident.

Sgt. Justin Antle, with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, said an older model pickup was driving east on 103rd when the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle several times.

The driver and a passenger were thrown nearly 50 feet from the vehicle. Both were taken to St. Francis hospital where they were pronounced dead a short time later.

"It appears that speed was a factor and neither individual was wearing their seat belt at the time of the accident," said Sgt. Antle.

Antle said a change in roadway may have been a factor in the crash.

"Given the speeds, it would appear that's the case and being as it switches from pavement to dirt road here, that may have also been a contributing factor," added Sgt. Antle.

Neither the victims names nor their ages have been released.
