Sheriff: Homeowner holds burglar at gunpoint

Homeowner stops burglar
SEDWICK COUNTY, Kan. -

A Goddard man has been arrested accused of breaking into a west Sedgwick County home.

It happened in the 2300 block of north 135th St. West around 2:45 p.m. April 24. A homeowner called 911 to report finding an intruder in his home.

Deputies arrived to find the homeowner holding the would-be burglar at gunpoint. The homeowner told authorities he was asleep, but woke up after hearing his barking dogs.

Officers took a 23-year-old man in to custody. He is being held on criminal trespass and vandalism charges.
