A Kansas native and former Republican presidential candidate has announced plans to return to the state through a series of visits.

Senator Bob Dole, 90, will tour 16 towns in four days next month. Exact venues and times will be announced in the coming weeks.

The visits are in addition to an April trip to Kansas, where he will stop in Northeast Kansas next week.

"I'm making my way across the state of Kansas during several trips this year," Sen. Dole said.  "I hope to see friends and former supporters of mine, and I am looking forward to enjoying lots of cookies along the way - preferably oatmeal raisin and chocolate."
