The world's tallest waterslide will officially make a splash this weekend.

Schlitterbahn in Kansas City, Kan. Said the Verruckt will open to the public Sunday. The opening comes after weeks of delay, when Verruckt was originally scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend. A report indicated the delay may have been related to test riders launching into the air towards the bottom of the ride.

At 168 feet, 7 inches tall, the four-person raft is expected to travel up to 70 mph in the vertical plummet.

Schlitterbahn has installed a protective net over the slide, for protective purposes.

The Kansas City Star reports the opening this weekend coincides with a one-hour Travel Channel special on "Xtreme Waterparks."

The park opens at 10 a.m. Sunday.
