Months after this Jayden Hicks was shocked by an electrical junction box in Salina, the city plans to replace its downtown light system - even though it says the accident was an isolated incident.

The Salina City Council approved a cost of nearly $1 million for that area of downtown, the city manager said this afternoon.

Jayden was outside in the rain earlier this year, standing on top of an in-ground electrical box that held wiring used to power street lights and concerts. Something malfunctioned and Jayden was shocked. She's still in a comatose state, and is in a rehab facility in Nebraska.

"We don't have a statement on that because we don't know (what happened)," City Manager Jason Gage said. "What we do know is that should never happen ... and we don't want it to happen again. It did cause us to stop and look."
