SALINA, Kan. -

Officers are investigating a scam that potentially could cost a Salina business thousands of dollars.

Police say an employee at CVS took a call Wednesday from a man claiming to be with corporate.

The suspect said there was a computer problem that affected the "Vanilla Visa" and "Green Dot" cards sold the day before. He needed the codes from $20,000 worth of the cards so they could be replaced.

The employee gave him the codes and police say store management eventually determined the call did not come from the corporate office.
