One injured in Reno County accident

RENO COUNTY, Kan. -

Several departments in Reno County were called to an injury accident around 3 p.m. Friday.

It happened in the 6900 block of Dean Road.

The Sheriff's Department says a vehicle driven by Bodie McKee, Hutchinson, was traveling east on 69th avenue when he failed to yield at the intersection. They say that's when he collided with a vehicle with two occupants going north driven by Donald Pearce of Sterling.

Bodie's vehicle was struck on the passenger side according to the Sheriff's Department. He was airlifted to St. Francis Hospital with head injuries. The Sheriff's Department says he was not wearing his seatbelt.

The accident is still under investigation according to Deputy Johnson with Reno County.
