PRATT, Kan. -

A new scam is making its way among Pratt County residents.

The Sheriff's Office said several phone calls have been made to Pratt citizens Wednesday from a man claiming to be with the City of Pratt electrical department.

The caller tells the intended victim, you owe ex amount of dollars and if you don't send your money today, your electricity will be cut off.

So far no callers have sent money. Sheriff Vernon Chinn said Pratt City or Pratt County will never call billing you or threatening to cut off services.

He said If you receive one of these calls, just hang up on them.  If you receive call from anyone you do not know, or one who claims to be from the government and demanding money, do not give them any information.
