A Wichita man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison after leaving three children home alone, that led to a deadly fire.

Adrian Johnson was convicted on three counts of aggravated endangering a child, as well as three unrelated drug-charges, and ordered to spend a total of 70 months in prison.

Johnson was caring for Ruthie Bell's 4-, 6- and 7-year-old girl last July. He left them alone, and the 6-year-old playing with a lighter lit trash on fire. The fire spread to her clothes.

She died at a hospital three days later.

Investigators said Johnson was Bell's boyfriend. Bell was sentenced to probation Wednesday.
