Man beaten with bat during home invasion

WICHITA, Kan. -

Wichita Police are searching for two suspects accused of beating a man with a baseball bat during a home invasion.

A man called 911 after two men entered his home in the 1300 block of South Laura overnight. The man told police the suspects entered through an unlocked door, demanding money.

The victim, a 65-year-old man, was beaten multiple times with a baseball bat. The suspects got away with the man's wallet, including several credit cards and and his social security card.

The victim was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. Police said while the man was receiving treatment, the suspects tried to withdraw money from an ATM in the 1900 block of North Broadway.

Officers checked the area, but did not find any suspects matching their description. The first suspect is described as a white man about 5'10" tall, weighing 160 lbs., with a buzz cut. The second suspect is described as a white man about 5'8" tall, weighing 180 lbs.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
