SALINA, Kan. -

A Salina man is accused of using his 7-year-old son to rob a house. Lieutenant Russ Lamer of the Salina Police Department says Adam L.C. Branstetter was arrested on Friday.

He was charged with burglary, contributing to the misconduct of a minor and endangerment of a child according to Lamer.  Branstetter allegedly helped his son through a basement window to take electronic cable from a residence.

The Salina Journal reports that a burglary in progress was reported in the 1600 block of East Cloud Street. That's where Police say they found Branstetter and the child exiting the house owned by Advantage Trust Co.

The boy allegedly crawled through the window and unlocked the front door for his father, who then retrieved the cable. There was no estimate on value or further description of the stolen items.

The Salina Journal reports the child was released to his mother.
