Llamas put down after dog attack in Ark City

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. -

Authorities in Arkansas City are looking to identify dog that attacked two llamas right before Christmas.

It happened in the 1100 block of South F St., around 3 p.m Dec. 23. Officers arrived to find a dog attacking two llamas. Police said two people who witnessed the attack yelled at the dog, and it ran away.

Both llamas had to be put down due to the seriousness of their injuries.

The dog did not attack anyone else, but police said they are concerned the animal could attack a person.

The dog is described as being light tan in color, long tail, and possibly wearing a black collar. Anyone with information is asked to call the Arkansas City Police Department at 620-441-4444.
