Wichita, Kan. -

Ellen Von Hoene says she knew a storm was brewing but didn't realize how big..

"I looked out my window this morning and it's just tiny little flurries but they're coming in faster," she said.

Von Hoene is chaperoning a group of students from Wichita who are participating in the March for Life in Washington DC.

Ten busloads with more than 600 people from the Wichita area made the trip for the annual anti-abortion rally.  The group drove more than 26 hours overnight to get there in time.

"Every single time we say we're from Kansas people say wow, from Kansas," she said.

The march is planned for Wednesday.  and more than 600,000 people are expected to join in.  Now a winter snow storm threatens to put a damper on their plans.

Ellen says her students are prepared as well. they plan to march even in the below freezing temperatures.

Most of the groups are planning to return to Kansas Wednesday after the march, if the roads are clear.  But all of them say, safety is first.  They're prepared to stay another day or two if the weather is bad.
