RAWLINS COUNTY, Kan. -

High winds and blowing dust have closed two northwest Kansas highways.

Officials closed K-25 at Atwood, north to the Nebraska border, Monday morning. KDOT closed K-27 between Goodland and Wheeler several hours later.

The blowing dirt, gusting more than 50 miles per hour, created near zero visibility. There have been no reports of accidents due to the weather conditions.

Much of Kansas remains under a wind advisory and red flag fire alert through the night.
