Missing Hutchinson inmate caught in Wichita

HUTCHINSON, Kan. -

A Hutchinson inmate who has been missing since Saturday has been caught in Wichita according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Christopher Ward, 43, was taken into custody in Wichita Thursday evening. The Hutchinson Correctional Facility said he went missing from his work site at Cal-Maine Industries northwest of Wichita, Saturday around 5:30 p.m.

Ward's convictions are from Butler and Sedgwick counties for burglary, theft, aggravated burglary, flee and elude and aggravated escape from custody.

His release date was set for May 29, 2016 before his escape.
