A flood watch remains in effect for parts of Kansas after storms dump several inches of rain across the state.

Heavy rains are causing flooding problems in parts of central and north central Kansas. Authorities in Lindsborg have closed some roads due to high water.

Emergency management says a few other roads throughout McPherson are also under water in rural areas.

Residents said this storm was nothing compared to the flooding that hit that town last August.

No homes have been evacuated. No one has been hurt.

In Hutchinson, authorities placed barricades on Severance Street between 23rd and 30th because of high water. A tree also blocked traffic on Hendricks south of 17th St.

In nearby Rice County, emergency managers reported several rural roads were closed due to high water.

The rain is expected to taper off through the evening as the system moves east, but there are more chances of rain in the forecast.
