FlipBelt: Does It Work?

Lacy Hansen and Karlee Martinez aren't new to running and all the accessories that come with it.

"A lot of the times we have goo or different types of fuel when we are running.  And, I happen to use the spy belt.  And, I just put everything inside here.  It goes around my waist and I run with it," Karlee said.

We asked these ladies to try a new running belt at GoRun's west side location, called the FlipBelt.  We found the FlipBelt for $28.99.  That does not include shipping.

Lacy steps into the bright yellow belt and places it around her hips.  She fills it up using the slits around the belt.  She puts her phone, runner's goo, and her keys inside the FlipBelt.

"And just flip it," Lacey said.

Lacy puts her new accessory to the treadmill test.

"Right now it feels good.  It doesn't feel like it's going anywhere," Lacy said.

This seasoned runner takes it up a notch.

"It still feels really comfortable," Lacy said.

Next, Lacy attempts to find her goo--something she would do while running a race.

"It's a little bit of maneuvering I guess," Lacy said.

But, she's able to keep everything in place.

Now, it's Karlee's turn.  She wears the same belt, with the same necessities inside.

"I like the fact that the weight is distributed around," Karlee said while running on the treadmill.

Karlee wears the belt on the outside of her shirt, so we can see if the FlipBelt moves.  It doesn't.

"I would wear it," Karlee said.

When the time is up on the treadmill, Lacey brings-up a potential FlipBelt flaw.

"If I were to carry a phone, or an iPod, or some electronic, I would wonder if the sweat would get to it and ruin it--which it has in other carrying devices," Lacey said.

The FlipBelt is made out of a wicking, quick dry fabric that's polyester and spandex.
Lacy also worries it might stretch-out.  But that's a risk these runners would take to experience a more comfortable run.

Does it work?

"I think so," Lacy said.

"Yes it does," Karlee said.

The FlipBelt comes in several different colors.  It has sizes extra small to extra-large... for both men and women.  It is also machine washable and you can throw it in the dryer.
