Fire damages south Wichita home
Investigators are searching for a cause in a fire that damaged a south Wichita home.
Crews responded to a trash fire in the 900 block of west Meikle, near 47th St. South and Seneca, around 10:15 a.m. Friday. They arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a home.
Firefighters managed to get the flames under control in about 30 minutes. No one was at home at the time.
The Red Cross has been called to help the family find temporary shelter. The fire caused about $50,000 in damage.
