More Kansans are staying home this Thanksgiving, whether it's traveling or shopping.
A FactFinder 12 Scientific survey asked 500 adults about their holiday travel plans. Sixty-nine percent of those polled said they will not travel this year. A majority of those that do, will be driving less than 100 miles.
Eyewitness News also wanted to ask about shopping plans, because many stores are opening their doors earlier this year on Thanksgiving Day. Eighty-one percent of those surveyed said they do not have any plans to shop on the holiday.
The survey also found that shoppers expend to spend about the same as last year. Those that said they will be spending fewer dollars on holiday gifts, said it will be a drastic cut.
