WICHITA, Kan. -

Fact Finder 12 is looking at a scam that many viewers have emailed and called our newsroom about. They say it's been happening recently to people living in the Wichita area.

Here's how the scam works:

You get a call from an unknown number. When you pick up the phone, an automated voice message tells you that your credit or bank card has been locked.

The caller then tells you to press one to unlock your card. After pressing one, the automated system asks for card information.

DON'T give them this information, it's a SCAM! Some report the number coming across as unavailable, others say it shows all zeros.

Please warn your families, especially young people and elderly about the scam.

If you have any questions about your card or account, you're asked to call your bank.
