Child Advocacy Center receives $300k gift
Junior League of Wichita makes a large donation to the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County. This morning, the group presented CAC with a check for $300,000.
The money will be used to help fund the training wing of a new Child Advocacy Center facility, which is moving into the old Lincoln Elementary School at Lincoln and Emporia.
The new facility will include medical, therapeutic and advocacy services. It will also include offices for the Department of Children and Families and the District Attorney's office.
Child Advocacy Center executive director Diana Schunn says they've raised $3.45 million of their $4.5 million goal.
Schunn says they hope to begin renovation on the building early next year and begin offering services in late 2015.
