Towers turned the Douglass school bus right side up before pulling it out of the river.

The Butler County District Attorney's office is reviewing the case against a school bus driver after an accident sent the bus into a creek.

Ten students from the Douglass school district were on the bus when the driver went over a low water crossing Oct. 31. The bus went off the edge, and the water swept it onto its side, troopers said.

None of the students were seriously hurt.

The district told Eyewitness News Morris Peterson, the driver, was a substitute. The district said drivers are trained not to drive into high water.

Kansas Highway Patrol investigators turned the case over to the Butler County Attorney's office Thursday. That office has requested further follow-up with the sheriff's department.

It may be another week before prosecutors decide whether to file charges.
