WICHITA, Kan. -

Many passengers who were at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport last Friday have reached out to Eyewitness News to share their stories and feelings.

A man named Terry Loewen was arrested and charged with attempting to explode a car bomb at Mid-Continent, according to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom.

Emily Dallas was on the way to the airport to catch a flight home to Mississippi when her phone started ringing. People were calling to tell her about the foiled suicide bomb attack. She said as she boarded her plan to head home, she was scared thinking about what almost could have happened.

“I felt like my heart just sank to the pit of my stomach,” she said.

Dallas says she when heard about Loewen’s plans to blow up the airport, she felt sick. So she put her pen to paper and wrote about the experience. She calls her blog entry, “If you’re lucky enough to be alive, live.”
