A 9-year-old boy is home recovering from after being struck by a stray bullet.
The McPherson County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened Father's Day weekend, after a man took his two sons had finished target practice near Lindsborg.
A bullet ricocheted and struck one of the boys in the collarbone. The child was taken to Lindsborg Hospital, then transferred to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment.
The sheriff's office said the copper jacket casing was taken out of the boy's shoulder and is now being kept as a souvenir.
The boy's name has not been released.
