2 more arrested in Barton County drug investigation

Update: Police in Barton County have arrested two more people in connection with this investigation.

Police tell us they served two arrest warrants Tuesday following search warrants executed last week. 

28-year-old Kevin Pekarek was arrested on eight counts, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, three counts of child endangerment and drug charges.  He's in jail on $100,000 bond.

Police also arrested 26-year-old Stephanie Crawford at a different home.  She faces drug and child endangerment charges.  Her bond is also set at $100,000.

Police tell us their investigation continues and "further action" is expected as the case continues.


Three people are arrested in Barton County after search warrants turned up nine ounces of methamphetamine. The drugs have a street value of around $20,000.

The Barton County Sheriff's Office says deputies served the search warrants Tuesday morning in the 1400 block of 20th Street in Great Bend and the 300 block of Marla Street in rural Barton County.

During those searches, authorities seized drugs along with vehicles and other assets which were the subject of a tax warrant issued though the state.

29-year-old Israel Klein, 31-year-old Jose Enriquez and 21-year-old Jacqueline Verduzco-Gonzales were arrested.

Several children were also taken into protective custody and placed with child services.

This is an ongoing investigation. Several more arrests and search warrants are expected.
