New shows coming to Wichita's Orpheum Theatre

The Orpheum and SMG Wichita have announced the addition of three new shows to the theatre’s 2014 lineup. The acts, which will be held at the Orpheum Theatre, feature two tributes to rock and roll icons and a popular children’s show.


Joseph Hall at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1

Texas-native and Elvis tribute artist, Joseph Hall, is officially recognized by Elvis Presley Enterprises. He has competed in multiple competitions, receiving the honor of third place in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Contest in 2008, followed by a top ten finish in NBC’s America’s Got Talent the same year. Hall now has his own theatre show in Branson, MO, Elvis Rock ‘n’ Remember Tribute Show.

Dinosaur Train Live! at 8 p.m. on Mar. 21

Based on the television show, Dinosaur Train created by Craig Bartlett and produced by The Jim Henson Company, Dinosaur Train Live! Buddy’s Big Adventure embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains.

The series encourages basic scientific thinking skills as the audience learns about science, natural history and paleontology. Come join Buddy, Tiny, King, Don and more in this fun-filled, interactive and immersive live trip back in time to an age when dinosaurs roamed the earth…and rode in trains!

 One Night of Queen at 8 p.m. on Mar. 24

One Night of Queen, performed by Gary Mullen and the Works, provides two hours of Queen’s “never-to-die” anthems such as We Will Rock YouBohemian Rhapsody and A Kind of Magic, to name a few. Along with his band The Works, Gary Mullen delivers the look, the sound, the pomp and the showmanship of arguably the greatest live band of all time.
