Maize Recreation Commission presents "The Wizard of Oz"

“We’re off to see the Wizard!” Maize Recreation Commission will present “The Wizard of Oz” Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Maize High School. This community theater is made up of children, teens, and adults from the Maize area and is in its 14th year of putting on family-friendly musicals. Entire families participate in this great summer activity in various roles: actors, musicians, stage managers, set builders, costume designers, etc. Some have gone on to work/act at Music Theater for Young People, Music Theatre of Wichita, the Wichita Grand Opera, even Broadway!

Tickets can be purchased through the Maize Recreation Commission website,, from the actors, or at the door. Prices are $10 for adults, $7 for students, and $7 for seniors (Sunday performance only). So click your heels together and travel somewhere over the rainbow with Dorothy, the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion to find the Emerald City and defeat the dastardly Wicked Witch. After all, there really is no place like home!
